The trick to being a baker is that all bakers are 2 cool 4 school.

skip school and spend all day making crème brûlée from scratch
From Scratch (like the beginning) or ON Scratch (like the website we're on right now)?

But they're all being sarcastic! XD
Anyway, I myself love baking. Cookies, most of the time. The occasional loaf of banana bread works too when we've got some old bananas in the house.
I'd like to help with your timeframe dilemma, but unfortunately I'm home schooled and don't know what it's like to not have time for anything. (Excuse the double negative!)

ok for some real help:
If your friend likes/doesn't hate bananas, banana bread is really easy to make and only takes about 30 minutes if you have all the supplies. I made a webpage with the recipe a while back, and I've tried it before. Make sure to use baking soda, though, not baking powder, otherwise it won't rise enough.
edit: more like 30-15 minutes plus baking time, which is one hour

But mine takes half an hour to throw together, and then one hour to bake! Ah well, it's probably better than yours anyway. :3

What could be considered "not taking the time" to bake? Microwave popcorn (eww) comes to mind when I think about that
I wish I could learn to cook and bake, but I never seem to find the time, the materials (a bit low on money now), or even the need to do it.

I bake from time to time, but I prefer cooking meals

I love baking! My dad is a caterer, and he went to culinary (cooking) school, so he teaches me a lot of different things. ;3
Once, we made these really good strawberry-lime cupcakes: The vanilla cake had strawberries inside it and the icing was a buttercream with a little lime juice and some lime zest to add color. (Lime zest is the grated rind of limes; you can also grate orange and lemon rinds.)
Another time, we made blueberry-almond cookies. :3

They sound very tasty.
Mind posting pictures (if you have any)?

Chocolate chip cookies are pretty quick and simple to make! Also, I found a really good recipe online somewhere (I think it was Food.Com or something) for banana scones. You can't really even taste a lot of banana in them- they're delectable. :3 Also, ignore the picture that it shows. They end up looking muuuuch better. xD

Baking is so much fun! I love to cook and bake awesome treats for me and my family (mostly me).

I love baking! I bake cupcakes all the time and bring them into school ('cause my family and I don't like canned frosting) and I haven't tried to make frosting from scratch (no pun inteded) but I make it more for looks than taste. Like I make a lot of "themed" cupcakes. I've made sunflower cupcakes, snowmen cupcakes, aligator cupcakes, hollywood cupcakes, and many others that I can't remember right now.

I was kidding. You have heard the phrase, "If you don't like meatloaf, then you've never tasted my meatloaf", right? It's kind of all a big joke when people say their dish is better than yours.
I think.
