Today the third iteration in the Skylanders series was announced, and it involves new figures that can be broken in half. The point of it? The top and bottom halves can be interchanged between swap force characters. Is Wash-Buckler too slow for you? Change out his slimy tentacles for Magna-Charge's electro-wheel. Need to get said robot to the top of the tallest mountain? Give him Blast-Zone's rocket legs. The list goes on, with 256 possible combinations.

"That's nice", you're thinking, "but I quit after Giants." Well guess what? They finally added jumping. Albeit less of a selling point, there's another batch of Lightcore, Series 2, and newlanders made for Swap Force. Also, the graphics are better than ever.

So discuss.

The gameplay style doesn't sound similar at all.

But if "buy these toys to play" actually becomes a thing aside from Skylanders in gaming, it'll suck.

You're still just buying toys aimed at little kids so I wouldn't go on one of those "THEY'RE CALLED ACTION FIGURES" power trips

if action figure powertrips exist

I never actually played Skylanders before and don't plan on it. It seems expensive and I'd rather invest in other things. Plus I have a reeally tight budget and anything over $20 is expensive to me.

Countdown doesn't have interchangeable parts because he simply isn't a Swap Force Skylander. He's a "normallander". If it helps, one of his attacks is throwing his own head off, which explodes and magically reappears on his "neck". tongue
