Scratch

My son and I are just getting started, using the "Super Scratch Programming Adventure" book.  We did the first test script, where the sprite writes a star.

We then started a new project using the same sprite, but now that darn star is always appearing over the background, as though it's somehow attached to the sprite we're using.  I've looked through everything, even tried creating a new sprite to use (though I don't want to delete our original sprite), but the star remains.

So far, we've only programmed scripts exactly as they appear in the book, so I'm not sure why this would be happening.

Anyway...any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated.
