Really surprised you didn't pick up a Riolu. Everyone seems to. It is a good pokemon after all.
I didn't pick up a Riolu either.
But I'm doing pretty good, I'm on Victory Road.
I have a:
Serpierior
Growlithe
Zebstrika
Krookidile
Psyduck
TranquillWow, not a bad team at all.
I tried for an Azurill to get all three base types covered, but failed. D:
Also Virbank Gym is really frustrating.
Azurill got bad for me fast.
I think it's stats start out really low, and I didn't have the patience to train it.
And if you want a little "cheat" for Virbank Gym (not recommended, but its cool to know), just catch a Magnemite and I've heard it makes the battle a lot easier.

Can I have one?
No, scratch that (LOL "scratch" that!) I'd like 2, no 3, make that 4. Maybe, perhaps, I might, just get to have....
....all six ?he he... At one point, i had 4 masterballs...
At one point I had 2, one from Leafgreen, sadly, I wish i'd kept it for Mewtwo. I haven't reached him yet but after Articuno I'm not ready for that clone!

Hm...
I did encounter a few Magnemites just now, they're only level 10 though and I don't want to wild train, but I think I'll take the chance.
I'll tell you guys if it worked.
Also if you catch a Pokemon for a gym (such as getting a Diglett to beat Lt. Surge in Kanto) just to make it a lot easier, it's technically not cheating.
Also the Keldeo I got from WFC currently sits in my PC until the rest of my team can catch up to level 50. :P I was seriously considering using it on Virbank Gym but thought that was too cheaty.
And now I wish I'd gotten the game on launch day like I did with White, so that I could have gotten Genesect, which is like my new favorite Pokemon. -.- He just looks so cool.

Yeah.
That reminds me when I gave my friend a level 100 Arceus when she was only on the second gym on Pokemon White.
I wonder if she used it...

I tried using a Mewtwo in Soulsilver to fight that gym in Goldenrod city but.... He just snored most of the battle...

You didn't have enough badges to train it did you?

I beat Virbank (without a Magnemite yay), and then beat Castelia without a problem. Ah Growlithe, why you must be so faithful?
Also Growlithe learned Flame Wheel and Fire Fang, which are awesome moves.
Later on, the Pokemon I plan to catch are Scraggy and Tranquil. Scraggy because it's a fighting-type and Tranquil because it's flying. Maybe also Sandile, but I'm not sure about that one.

I am bad at getting a well rounded team.I knew you would have a Luxray, NeilWest.
Yeah well Luxrays are awesome and Electric types are awesome because:
They can paralyze.
Well-rounded stats.
Powerful attacks (Thunder, Thunder Fang, Shockwave)
Luxray can also learn loads of Dark attacks, so Psyhics, Water and Flying types beware.

Haha overtraining much? :P
Can't blame you, really, I used to be really bad at balancing my team's levels.
Once on White I overtrained Emboar so much to point where it was level 68 and the rest of my team was like at level 30. XD Really had to pay the price for that mess up.
(also whoever knows what my new signature is referring to gets a gigantic cookie)

I'd pick up a Sandile if I were you.
Keep it at the same level as the rest of your Pokemon and it'll help in the future.

Caught a Scraggy. Took a lot of work though, it took (no joke) an hour for me to find him.
Also got a Fire Stone but I'm not evolving Growlithe just yet, there's still a lot of moves he needs to learn.

Nope, I was so stupid....

I beat every gym in white version 1 on the first try.
And even though I don't have Black version 2 yet I'm already planning my team:
Oshawott
Trubbish
Growlithe
Riolu
maybe a Sandile or Scraggy....
also I might grab the one before Beartic (I can't remember it's name)
Know any good pokemon I could and should pick up when/if I get it?

Where'd you get a Fire Stone?
My growlithe is ready.

Desert Resort. It's a hidden item. Took me a while to find though. :P

I just let whatever is at the front of my team get all the XP. Yeah, I'll need to train the others with EXP. Shares and Victory Road.

I mean, look at its eyes!

It looks more like Raichu to me. And the pink thing looks like a Celfairy/Jigglypuff/Hitmontop mix...
