I just went to beta.scratch.mit.edu and it was exactly the same as the alpha site. O.o
That's probably where the beta is going to go when the Scratch Team wakes up.
I just got a laptop for my birthday and I've been on reddit for hours and I can't stop.

The site was moved over to beta.scratch.mit.edu a few days ago; alpha.scratch.mit.edu simply redirects there.
and @reddit comment ugh I got bored doing homework and was like meh I'll go on Reddit since there's nothing else to do and I got sucked into reading /r/atheism and /r/mylittlepony and stuffff

So it appears the Scratch team is busy working on Beta! It's semi-live at http://beta.scratch.mit.edu . The reason I say "semi-live" is because you can go to the site, and no password is needed, but it wont let me login to the site. It says "Sorry. You're not able to login to Scratch 2.0 yet."
edit: Glad to see they finally added an eraser to the paint editor xD
edit 2: Wha? Since when did they remove cloud variables!?

You don't need the password? I still do.
Anyway, Lightnin said that Cloud Variables would be disabled in the early part of the beta to improve them.

Weird, just tried it again, and it didn't ask for a password. Maybe it didn't update for you yet? I don't know. Also, about cloud variables, did he say when they'd be back?
Edit: Just tried going to the beta site on another computer, and it asked for the password. My bad. The password must just be saved on my computer.

It's still too early - come on, it's 2 AM at MIT, the ST needs their sleep first before they open the beta website!

Hi
As alpha tester and fr.po file translator on the server Pootle, I would like to say it is urgent to look closely at the available language translations.
A month ago I warned the head of the translation at the Team Scratch to report these shortcomings : I never got any answer.
I wish to be contacted with my email address: i.scool @ mac.com.
On one hand :
I would not publish these shortcomings publicly because the Team Scratch makes an outstanding job.
But in the current state of translations it is not serious at all.
On an other hand all these shortcomings must be notified , because it concerns the translation of all languages
But if you want or if you give me the permission I publish my comments on this forum.
Sincerely

Happy Beta day!
I'm pretty sure I was told that the gates don't open until noon though - so please be patient. If I get new information, I'll let you know

Too bad it will be blocked at school... I can access scratch.mit.edu, so I will be able get on 2.0 at school when it is officially released. I have a lot of spare time to use it at home though.

Maybe I should give up my study hall playing with 2.0?

Yikes there seems to be some issues with Scratch being released on a Monday. I'm probably not going to do anything with it at all today, then tomorrow only read threads that say whats different, and wednesday I see whats different, and thursday I don't have Crew, so I can play with it, and of course, friday will also be for 2.0.
