Well, I have a favorite book, and I have a book that's the best I've ever read.
My favorite is The Chosen by Chaim Potok.
The best is For Whom the Bell Tolls by Ernest Hemingway.

I haven't read that many books so I'm just judging off of the books I know. It's sort of like picking the best out of the worst. I loved the hunger games even though there's a lot of bad qualities to it. And I just like Divergent 'cause it's entertaning ,but even still, why the "Really?"

Because they're nowhere near the quality standard for "best book ever".
Plus if you really think that The Hunger Games is the best "dystopian" novel ever, you obviously have not read 1984, Fahrenheit 451, Brave New World, Anthem, We, The Giver.

You're right, I haven't read those books, but I'm going to. I was trying to get into reading at the time (and I still am) so I was/am just going with what's popular to begin with and then branch out. Also my friends are reading the most popular books so unless I don't want to know what they're talking about- I gotta read their books.

1984, Fahrenheit 451, Brave New World, We, and The Giver are certainly popular books.
And who cares if you know what your friends are talking about. Out of all super popular fiction in the last two years or whatever, I've read like, the first book of The Hunger Games.
Anway, the Divergent one is about like people splitting into groups for whatever reason, right? I don't know, it just doesn't sound like something I would enjoy, and it's been called "similar to The Hunger Games" so I have even less a chance of liking it!

"similar to The Hunger Games"? Heck no. When people say it's "similar" they mean by popularity ranking, or meaning it'll be "the next hunger games" like Twilight was "the next Harry Potter" it's that sort of thing. And I do care to know what my friends are talking about, they're my friends, I wanna be on the same page. And I actually really like the books anyway so.....

Uhm, I think they meant "like the Hunger Games" as in "pop-fiction dystopian novel with strong female character set in a future North America" while the same parallels can't be drawn from Harry Potter -> Twilight

That too, but when people I know say it, they're comparing it by popluarity.
