Guys, stop pressuring them! Do you know how hard it is to rewrite Scratch? Pretty hard

Many of you would like to know the exact release date of Scratch 2.0 - and the truth is, so would we! Good software takes time, testing, and lots of work. While we've made steady progress in recent months, it's still too soon to nail down a final release date.
But we can commit to an open beta! On January 28th, we'll open the Scratch 2.0 beta website to all Scratchers. With your help, we can test out Scratch 2.0 and nail down all the glitches. During this beta period, the old (current) Scratch website will continue to run. After some time has passed in beta, and we feel confident about a final release date, we'll make an announcement to let everyone know when it will be.
Scratch On!

Note to the scratch team. This is co13. I'm not much of a forums user so please reply on my gallery "forums replies". I'm not too happy about the date. Jan 28th 2013. I was hoping it was on a weekend. Most scratchers are in school, or have a job on Monday and can't be bothered with scratch on this Monday. Last time they opened the beta, I wasn't able to get on for almost any time at all. Only 15 minutes which doesnt help. I was hoping you can open it tommorow on Jan 27 2013, or re-open it a second time on Feb 9, 2013. Plus the beta testing has been closed. I never got a chance to sign up on it, as well as many other scratchers. Plus you will be able to get more people to test the beta on this sunday (tommorow), or that Saturday (Feb 9th). Please open it on one of those dates. If you do, thanks co13.

NO CLOUD VARIABLES?!?! Please, Scratch Team, don't take away the best part of 2.0! It wasn't a feature anymore when I went onto the Scratch editor

Do you really need to start a rumor to get attention? They aren't removing cloud variables.

They are temporarily disabled

As an alpha tester, I support this since they were REALLY glitchy .
Darn. Thanks for the answer, though.

It's not a rumor if you're testing the alpha editor, and saw that they took it down.
Lundfamily3, don't accuse someone of something if you don't know all the facts

It was a misunderstanding, no need to get ugly here. And yes, it is only temporary.

My friend is an alpha tester and he logged on minutes before the announcement and cloud variables were still there, so I assumed. My name isn't Lundfamily3, either. You don't capitalize it. lundfamily3 is my name.
So sorry. -,-

I'm sure this Question has been asked a Million times already, Sorry If it has But if the new Scratch is going to be using more Flash and Java... Does that mean People with the Raspberry Pi wont be able to use Scratch anymore? Flash is a pain for Raspberry Pi users! Or will we have to use the old version or something? Thanks...

I can't wait to see what everyone makes in Scratch 2.0!
Just wondering, will the 2.0 offline editor still have the style of the 1.x editors?
