In Scratch 2.0 it will be possible to make an MMO because we'll have cloud variables and lists.

Yes, but you may not be able to make live action mmo's due to the lag in updating the cloud

the ST is working on making it faster.

A possible solution: Let users act as servers themselves. If they decide to do this, their instance of the project will hold the Cloud Lists and Variables, that every other user connected will reference.
This would be available as an advanced hidden feature, not unlike Mesh or even Turbo Mode in 1.4. Users experienced in the matter will be able to easily create a dedicated server, by simply setting up an instance of Scratch in a server they own.
Low latency (roughly as much as the ping between the server and players, I'd estimate), less load on Scratch's servers, and great MMOG gameplay - everyone is happy

I support this, but I don't really think it will be done. When I suggested it, people said there was no point and it would make it more complicated. Perhaps you are explaining it in a better way.
