What is SC13?
SC13 is a scratchwide competition hosted annually by the last year's winner.
If you take part, you have to submit a project for every round, which will be judged by me and rated with a number between 1 and 100 points. There will be four rounds. In every round, you have to make a project against a randomly picked scratcher. The one with the better project will reach the next round and the other one will be eliminated. You will all be solo, no collaborations.
What could I win?
Bragging rights, and the opportunity to host SC14!
I want to enter!
Great! Visit this page to enter, and to check out more information about it.

I think I'll enter, sounds interesting, just a question,
How long will we have to make a project for this?

a good amount of time, like around 2-3 weeks each time.
plus, you don't have to start from scratch at the start of each round. you can always enter a project right when the 1st round begins, then start working on your next one, etc, so you have more time.

Is that what you did, is the idea you only have to do enough to beat your opponent, not to be the best until the final.

In a way.
I basically had an idea for a jump 'n' run platformer, and thought it could be great. So, I basically worked on this as I was working on the other games of the competition, so when the final round came, I could release an awesome game I spent so long on.
You can find it here.

I'd like some help to understand. There are many competitions and I'm even making my own; what's unique about this one?

Interesting setup with a knockout competition; it'll be interesting to see how it turns out since with other competitions you can get a lot of signups with quite a few not entering in the end which would be bad for this...
On the upside though, if everyone does participate then it should be quite fun.
EDIT: Just saw you have a plan for if someone doesn't post an entry; looking forward to this then.

I'm not certain if it's unique for Scratch, but this competition is four elimination rounds. The last one standing wins. Most other competitions are just one round, where the winner is picked in one round, instead of four. This type of contest can stop the Scratchers with only one good project from beating those who really deserved it.
