Re: Odd Laws

In England, all men over the age of 14 must carry out two hours of longbow practice a day.

In Chester you can only shoot a Welsh person with a bow and arrow inside the city walls and after midnight.

Dying is illegal in the Houses of Parliament.

If a whale is found on the British coast the Queen can claim the head and she has a legal right to the tail.

In York, excluding Sundays, it is perfectly legal to shoot a Scotsman with a bow and arrow.

Any person found breaking a boiled egg at the sharp end will be sentenced to 24 hours in the village stocks.

A bed may not be hung out of a window.

and yes i know why that law was introduced but that doesnt make it okay

They specify what they mean if you read what the law actually says; I was paraphrasing for simple clarification when I just said "intentional."

So is an abortion an intentional miscarriage :L

Obviously beating a baby out of you is a poor choice but how will that end up in court like
"You are being tried for an intentional miscarriage due to eating too much knowing the full consequence of that action"

like what specifically constitutes one being intentional

I'm referring to those who are attempting to debate over the laws, instead of merely mentioning them. Better to stop them now than wait until it overshadows the real discussion.

the original post says "discuss strange laws" and just mentioning laws hardly makes up a discussion

No they're not because we got them off the internet. You can't put anything on the internet if it isn't true. Just ask my French model.

Here in South Carolina a man may beat his wife on the courthouse steps with a stick no larger than his thumb.

Don't worry, as long as you don't fill out the "Reason" textbox it won't even be reported.

Re: Odd Laws

Where I live (Florida), it's legal to cross the street without a crosswalk, and cars don't have to stop. It's a crazy law.

I've also learned that on a bike, you have to obey traffic rules, which is a problem because I've gone 45 MPH in a 30 zone (yes, I know that is really fast; it was a steep hill and I was pedaling as fast as I could). So I guess I'm joining all those other guys in jail now...  hmm
