I think that it's a little bit too late to start suggesting blocks for 2.0. If you're suggesting blocks for us to make with the Make a Block feature, then these are all makeable.

Bad idea mostly (sorry for critisism).
You can already do "or" with the operator block:
<() or ()>Previous costume would be great! (although very easy to create e.g.)
switch to costume <(costume #) - [1]>Mouse up not needed:
<not <mouse down?>>Can't really see much of a point of
broadcast [ v] or [ v]- can be done with
<pick random [] to []>and variable(s)

Will everyone be able to go on the Beta? Or just certain testers?

What happened to those projects from Scratch day at MIT?
Really excited about the beta

Finally, I'm old now. I might give it a little test.

well, considering they're already not allowed, they shouldn't be allowed in 2.0...Chatrooms are going to be allowed, in fact, I have one of my own on the site (Yeah, I'm an alpha tester).
I've been on several (like 777w's and laternpfahl's) but I'm not sure if they'll be allowed when 2.0 becomes public. Because right now (and especially in alpha, with just us curators and mods) there aren't too many people and most of them the Scratch Team trusts, they may allow it.
Or have the ST said "chatrooms are going to be allowed in when 2.0 comes out"?
What bad can come with chatrooms?

Bullying, swearing, etc.

Only "Scratchers" should be able to use cloud variable strings (they should still be able to use numbers).

I think, that when it comes onto a open beta, on the forums, they should have a name, like tester so you can see who has been testiung longest.
Scratch 2.0 forums btw

Thats exactly what happened in USA elections. Some election topics got even front paged! (top viewed, remixed, loved and new projects)
Remixed for people adding their votes
Loved from people who agree with that person on political stuff
Viewed for people who find it interesting.
It was a disaster, heated arguments in comments etc.
That was without cloud variables...
Here is an example of one such project that got front paged. (most viewed I think)
Check its commentsWhat's wrong if young people are interested in politics? Politics is important for all of us, so why shouldn't we make Scratch projects dealing with politics, elections, political parties and so on?
Maybe instead of removing such projects entirely, we could mark them as Not for Everyone (which basically means that the project can't be frontpaged but people can still view it)
I believe that the rule is that you can make projects like this as long as you dont offend other scratchers...

There's no rule against making political projects - as long as they aren't offensive is some way, such as insulting to the opposition party or advocating violence of some sort.

Bullying, swearing, etc.
Bullying happens everywhere, not just on chat rooms. People can make projects, submit things on the forums etc. As for swearing, I'm sure the ST will create some kind of censor that detects messages with swears in it and stops it from appearing on the variable.

Just because bullying happens in a lot places it doesn't mean that an effort shouldn't be made to stop it, you can't just say "bullying happens everywhere" to justify potential bullying in chatrooms

Try clearing the cache. That worked for me. If that doesn't work, try another browser. Internet Explorer is not good for Scratch 2.0 but I think Chrome or Firefox would be OK (although I've hardly ever used Firefox).

Chatrooms are just problems waiting to happen. No-one knows what goes on in them, etc. I think people should be forced to not make chatrooms. E-Mail servers are ok, because they require a bit more work. But no chatrooms. I've been a alpha tester for a while, so I know their problems. And you shouldn't be allowed to "show" or "hide" cloud data. It should stay hidden.
