Slash:Suspicious content

When I first downloaded Slash on Windows XP I saw suspicious behaviour from it it looked like it was taking info from my disk. Anybody else had it?

Re: Slash:Suspicious content

Scratch wouldn't do that - unless I am misreadinh you. The only way it would 'take' info from your disk is when you download it, the hard drive needs to hold the memory of the Slash program etc.

I'm back.
Maybe.

What do you mean by that? What did the suspicious activity look like?

Re: Slash:Suspicious content

Scratch Mods or Scratch should be ok to run. It does have to load some information from the disk, but that info is only related to Slash.

What makes you so suspicious of this? Please clarify.

His antivirus probably detected it as spyware.

Did'nt but it was very suspicous:Maybe it's clever enough to make the antivirus software not detect it.

If you're suspicious of it, run it in a sandbox.

What do you mean by suspicious. What is it doing that makes you think this?

I am confused.

How do you know that it is taking/looking at data?

Re: Slash:Suspicious content

If you're not sure if it is safe to run, your antivirus software may have a built-in sandbox. If it doesn't, a good sandbox program is Sandboxie.

Re: Slash:Suspicious content

Slash fiction often contains suspicious content, but the Scrach modification Slash is perfectly fine.
