Switching from full screen to minimize/regular window on linux = crash

I've seen this happen in both Ubuntu and now Mint (which is based on Ubuntu) -

I have an open Scratch project and then click on the full screen button to test it. I then press the ESC key to get out of fullscreen mode and it goes back to the regular window size from before, but is just a white screen. And it's stuck there - clicking minimize or maximize does nothing, and I have to force-quit the application.

Any other linux users have this issue? I'm mainly concerned because, after years away from linux, I'm trying to make it my primary non-work OS and while I was having issues with Ubuntu, Mint seems to have been working stable/fast/great before this issue came up. I want to confirm that it is a Scratch bug and not an issue with the OS/my instance of it.

Re: Switching from full screen to minimize/regular window on linux = crash

I use Ubuntu 12.04 and have a similar problem when I resize the scratch window.
It is a confirmed bug in Unity 3D and there is a fix:

I'm new to sprite, as of today!
