Meh. I would probably actually take some interest if I knew someone who didn't like them, but since all the mindless fools in my school can't stop obsessing over 1D, I decided that they're not worth listening to.

I think while they're not the worst role model for young girls (or whatever demographic they're trying to appeal to) I don't think they've got anything special. They've been compared to the Beatles (really???) but they had credibility as solo artists where none of the members of One Direction seem to have any unique traits about them. Once again, I'm not trying to hate on the people but I really can't stand the generic, scraping the bottom of the barrel, run of the mill pop-lyrics. The lyrics are the worst part. I enjoy listening to arists who express actual meaning through their music. For example, the punk rock bands that I'm into such as Bad Religion, NOFX, Offspring, Subhumans, The Clash, Green Day etc. have true and meaningful lyrical themes such as anti-establishment, anti-war, equality and rebellion against a corrupt society. Anyway, not meaning to hate or anything, that's just my opinion.
