Argonith Base (ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE)

http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/Yickpoo/3048620

The above is a link to my latest and possibly last project. It is not complete, but everything is there that would be required to complete the game. I would like to as you guys, the Scratch Community, if someone could please finish the game. It has a lot of potential, unfortunately, I just don't have enough steam to finish it.

If you would like to completely redo the story and game mechanics, all the sprites are there and yours to use.

I'm really quite proud of the graphics on Argonith, so if you could please just mention me somewhere in the project or project notes if you decide they would be good to use, that'd be great of you.  smile

Thanks a lot,
Jake (Yickpoo)

Re: Argonith Base (ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE)

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION IF YOU SO WISH TO KNOW...

THE HISTORY BEHIND ARGONITH:

08jackt and myself were due to make a collaborative project that would essentially set the bar for gaming on Scratch. We made a square that could walk around as a scroller and was very bland. 08jackt stuck some eyes on it and that's when the main Argonith character base was essentially created.

Some months passed and we had all the top Scratchers (at the time) involved with the project in some way, whether that be through advertising, coming up with gameplay ideas and story, creating music or just playing through it and providing feedback.

After about six months since the collaboration idea, we uploaded a piece of gameplay on my account that was a hit. It wasn't much, but it was quite epic if I do say so myself. It started with the player being able to customise his or her avatar and then watching that avatar drop from space in the game's first ever cutscene.

A month later, we added gameplay. Unfortunately, the gameplay wasn't all that fun and people more appreciated the graphics that I had created. Because of this, we spent a lot of time upping the graphics and focusing less and less on the game itself.

Two or three Scratch users dropped off the project and left Scratch as whole, leaving myself, Dab1998, Fulldroid and 08jackt with the project. Fulldroid only being new at the time didn't want to stuff up the project and stepped down, followed by 08jackt who stated, "We've being doing this for a long time and it's gone nowhere. Let's just scrap it and move on."

Argonith was scrapped.

About a year ago I picked it back up, leaving behind all the old gameplay, sound effects, graphics and story. I uploaded 'Argonith: The Game' which received mixed reviews. Mainly poor gameplay, good graphics. Dab1998 was working on Argonith 2 at the time, then vanished from Scratch.

Forward another year, and we're here. This is what I've got. And now I want you to have it and finish what I started three years ago.
