Hidden Links

I'm an active forum user and sometimes I accidentally click on the parts of the webpage that don't have posts or links. It make me go to other random sites like j.com. I have checked the
HTML using Firefox and there aren't any tags like <a href=site.com> for the sites it sends me to. Could you look into this?

Re: Hidden Links

I don't believe it's the Scratch website, but maybe some kind of malware of sorts that's triggered to lead to that site. If you have a security program, try running a full scan first.

Re: Hidden Links

Yeah. It's most likely just a program or virus. The ones that lead you to diffrent sites are common

Re: Hidden Links

It happens in all computers that I use, so I don't think it's a virus or program.

Hmm, tricky one.

Do all the computers hare some kind of downloaded program they have in common?
Are all the computers connected somehow? Or do they run independently and just use the same internet connection?
Have you been using all those computers to view the same websites?

Re: Hidden Links

Hmm, I hate those sites that say your computer's infected, and asks you to fix it. Don't trust that.

Hmm, that's odd.

Does this problem occur only when using the Firefox browser, or does it occur regardless of the browser being used?

Re: Hidden Links

That's a really interesting problem...can you do a little experimentation and tell us exactly where on the page you are clicking that leads you to these other sites?  Maybe we can repeat the problem on our own setups.

Re: Hidden Links

That happened to me too on my Linux netbook. A virus scan cleans it right up.

Re: Hidden Links

I'll try that, but it does it on the computers at my local library too.
