Eh, American YouTube has a lot blocked, I can't even watch NWA's "express yourself" without "I have a dream" being blurred out.
Even though America is supposedly the land of the free, the internet is a little too free for the government and YouTube's liking obviously, my best advice is to get video download helper for Firefox (I don't use Chrome, so I don't know anything for it) and get them before they're taken down.
If Hasbro wanted to do this they'd take down a lot more videos, it's not at all logic for them to do this.

If this was on purpose, I bet it was the same reason MLP Online was cancelled.
I bet Hasbro was NOT willing to do this, but copyright law may have forced them to take the videos down otherwise they could have lost the rights to MLP.
Darn copyright system is a large setback on innovation IMHO.
We'll just have to hope this was an accident.

lol I just realised why they're still working for me—I'm using a Canadian IPv6 DNS server (and it uses IPv6 when available, which it is on YT).

No, I'm 99% sure that was because of disputes between the people in charge. It fell apart of its own accord.

That's not how the copyright system works, and is in fact a rather commonly perpetuated myth. You can lose a trademark if it becomes a household name in the public eye, but you don't lose your right to your IP if you don't prosecute every instance if infringement.
I do agree that current copyright laws, especially with regard to digital things, are a mess though.

Youtube is owned by Google, so they can do whatever they want in regards to copyright. All of the internet is essentially businesses with a code to access them, until you get people intentionally making things open source (like Scratch and the projects uploaded)
