Start with simple games. Not too advanced or anything. The more you learn the better you get at scratch!

If u can understand the use variables, u can make projects based on variables and maths or else start with very simple programing like moving and sensing or using if loops, I will teach u online when you want in an independent thread which I am thinking to open. [

You can make a car racing game by making the car move around. They are also pre-loaded games on scratch. You could look at them for ideas.
Hope this helps!

You could... do a simple game kind of a dress-up game but more complicated, and this might be a little complicated(if you want, we can work together on it) but something where you make your own superhero, choose a weapon and different articles of clothing(nothing too much, but just shirt, helmet, feet, and pants) and give it a name. How about that?

HI! I am a total newbie and I am compleatly out of ideas on what I should make... any ideas?
First of all, hello sengfam1 and welcome to Scratch! I wish you plenty of luck in the future!
Anyway, here are some ideas:
1). A simple platformer where you're trying to climb up a mountain.
2). You've always liked walking through the rain, but on one particullarly frightful storm, lightning starts falling like mad! So, now you must survive the onsalaught of thunder as you run around frantically.
3). A simple game where you can design your room however you want. Remember, diversity and music are key here.
I hope that you like my ideas!

Try checking out the front paged projects for good examples

Try making projects which will have just motion and looks and sounds, for starting.
Then make projects related to langauge, check my Number of letters 1s 1s to understand variables and some of the operators, then try calculator and then u will be fine with making great games.
Try checking the sample projects and sample sprites

the best way to learn about scratch is not to take the class. I learned on my own time. play with the commands. oh and a good site for finding sprites is www.spritersreasource.com
