She was country

Eh
I really don't listen to her much
Mostly because "pop" nowadays is anything about secret love and breakups

Hm
She may have been born there or something but aside form playing acoustic I don't think I've ever heard one of her songs be truly country
Offline
I may be wrong but she was country in 2009 or 2010

Most country today isn't true country. They are even trying to implement rapping into it.

I honestly like her pop songs better than her country.
I mean they're all whining anyway so why not make it fun?

I was talking to DIY a while ago, he tells me she used to be country. I wouldn't know, I don't listen to modern pop music

Yes.
I like to observe the charts just because I'm interested in the various changing pop trends, so I took a listen to her two big singles, "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" and "I Knew You Were Trouble".
"We Are Never" (I'm not typing that whole thing again) is really more pop than country - the closest thing to country in that song are the subtle acoustic guitars that are distorted beyond belief.
As for "I Knew You Were Trouble", when I first heard that, I had trouble believing that was actually a Taylor Swift song. Any influence of country she ever had are nowhere apparent on this song. I actually looked up the song on Wikipedia to see what genre they would categorize it as, and they actually called it 'popstep' - apparently some sort of new genre that crosses dance-pop with dubstep.
It may just be a phase, sort of like Olivia Newton-John. Remember? In the 70's she was this sort of country pop princess, and then at the turn of the 80's, she released "Physical" (an unabashedly New Wave song).
Or, seeing how well these songs have been doing lately, she might just continue to take the same route. Who knows, in about five years, she may sound like Kesha.
