MP3 Being annoying in Linux
Whenever I try to import an MP3 file into a Scratch project, it either tells me that it's in a "bad format" or it imports it, but the audio has tons of skips. I use LAME as far as I know, and I run Kubuntu 12.04 LTS.

well on my mac and windows it works!
Make it in Scratch! because it's cooler when it's made in scratch

Are you using it under WINE, or the native Linux version? It's far less glitchy under WINE, for me - though I do have problems with MIDI, might be a problem with audio overall. 
I run Ubuntu 12.10.

MP3 works always on my Mac, though I remember having problems on my PC.
Try using .wav format. That always works. You can use Audacity to convert the audio file.
