What does friending a person do? And can you edit a post you made?

Hi,

My questions are the title.
Does friending only put their name on a list? what help is that?
I don't see any way to directly ask them a question...

Ok, friending someone is like subscribing. On the front page of scratch, there will be your friends' newest projects. No, you can not edit posts.

You can't edit a post as a New Scratcher, and friend's projects show up on the front page for you.

When you friend someone, they will be in your list of friends and their newest projects show up on the front page.
