It depends on the day. Some days, a project will get an explosion of love-its, and beating it becomes impossible. And others, the top loved projects have about 10 love-its.
Why are the secret organizations getting all the attention?

Yeah, the stakes to get frontpaged are set by other projects. So if a project gets 1000 views in 3 days ( 
) then it's pretty hard to get top viewed until the 1000-view project gets off. Top Remixed would probably be the easiest (I've seen top remixed projects with only around 4 remixes).
