read the books manMost people who make the 42 joke haven't actually read the books, in my experience.
Since it's "the answer to life, the universe, and everything" and we don't know the question, we can't say it's the meaning to those things.
Regardless, 42 is just a random number Adams came up with as a sort of "perfectly normal number" and was really just a quick joke.
Anyway, I suppose many people, including myself, find religious meaning in life but if you take that away then there really isn't one. Everyone dies eventually and some just have a better time before they do than others.
Actually, it's the answer to the ultimate question about life, the universe, and everything. The question is "what do you get if you multiply six by nine?"
Go figure.

My meaning of life: Help the planet, help the people, eliminate Earth's problems. Get an education and turn your knowledge into power to help. Leave a mark on this planet rather than existing like the contless humans before us.

Guys whoever says "42" is wrong.
42 is the answer to the ultimate question of life, the universe, and everything. Not just life. Not simply the answer to those three things, but the answer of the ultimate question. The question is, as we know it, lost to speculation and mystery.
Whoever says otherwise has clearly not read the books.
So stop misusing the joke, it's not funny.
Anyways, as for myself, I really don't know the meaning of life. I have no religious beliefs on it, being atheistic. I'd maybe say: "For all you know, you could die tomorrow." Then you make the most of every moment as if they were your last.
And whoever says "YOLO" really needs a good spanking.

do you really want to spank everyone who says yolo?
anyway, the meaning of life is to pass on your genes then die (or, alternatively, live some more and then die)

I don't think it means "evil murderer who kicks kittens for fun"
