Gee, it sure seems I lost my Internet at the worst of times - right when the single was released. I just listened to it, and I'll admit, it's not bad by any means. I like the somewhat, homemade, lo-fi quality to the songs - adds a quaint, simple atmosphere to the songs that I really appreciate.
I admit the vocals on "Here Comes the Sun" are a bit off (no offence, jji, I know it's not really in your range ), but I don't really see any problems with the mixing that some have commented on. Everything sounds in its place and fine. Well done, I'd say.
"Yesterday" is a standout for me. I think the cover really brings out the simplistic beauty that has cemented its legacy as one of the Beatles' most charming ballads. I enjoy how it doesn't try to sound like the original, but rather as if it was our own composition.
The guitar on both is very well done. The somewhat low fidelity of it brings out a ukelele-ish tone that really characterizes the "Walruses" sound. You also found some very nice synth tracks, I might add.
I also glanced over the promo thread for our single, and was quite surprised by the argument that suddenly erupted from you guys. To make perfectly clear, I'm not taking sides, but I do respect both of your opinions. However, I don't exactly believe our cover is "a disgrace to the Beatles" - rather I think it's a new and interesting take on the Fab's songs that, if not exactly yielding perfect results, is still rather enjoyable.
I'm just proud and a bit astonished that we were to release a single (let alone a double one), a feat that not a lot of Scratch bands can pull off. I think the reason for this is because we all have a unifying love for the Beatles and a shared ambition to represent their pieces in a new light.
However, now that the work is done, I would wager everyone involved in the collab is ready to move on with other projects. I want to thank everybody who helped out in this collab, whether it be those who contributed directly or those who had always supported us. I'm honored to have worked with such brilliant colleagues and great friends as you guys. It was truly a wonderful experience, and I thank you all for bringing my ambitious vision into a reality. I wish the best of luck to all your future and current projects, and hope you will continue to experience great success.

(P.S. - When I someday attain a proper recording device, expect me to start making my own recordings. )Glad you like them both. I appreciate your comments on Yesterday in particular; great motivation.
Now to move onto more Frozen Coco and solo work while I take a good, well deserved break.By the way, I'm really enjoying "Light Amidst the Fog/If We Never See the Light" at the moment. It has a rather moody, introspective feel, a large departure from your earlier works that's rather nice.
On another note, not to sound selfish or anything, but do you think you could credit me as manager and producer on the description for our single? Thanks.
No problem.
But I'm not sure producer is the correct term for you (it refers usually to the person who mixed the record, which is why I've put myself up there under that). Just wanted to confer that. I suppose manager is more appropriate terminology, so I'll put it up (am at the school library as I type during a free period, so I won't have time just as of yet to edit xD).
And thanks about the feedback on Frozen Coco's latest singles. Those songs have really grown on me too as our music gets mature (in terms of songwriting), plus I'm glad to see the public response to our work is increasingly and overwhelmingly good. Light Amidst the Fog alone has close to 700 plays in less than a month and plays from over 70 countries!
Two singles are planned later on this month, so stay tuned.

Producer = Person who funded the project.

Who ever payed to 'fund' this project?
Record Producer

Nobody did, so there is no producer except in the other meanings of the word.

I find it quite amusing the way you dejectedly try to prove me wrong with every statement I make just because everyone denies that your statement about the released singles being a "disgrace" was correct. If your way of convincing yourself that you were right to make such a statement is to find fault with anything (and everything) I say, that is a pretty childish and immature approach, since the public obviously thinks otherwise. The fact remains that:
A record producer is an individual working within the music industry, whose job is to oversee and manage the recording (i.e. "production") of an artist's music. A producer has many roles that may include, but are not limited to, gathering ideas for the project, selecting songs and/or musicians, coaching the artist and musicians in the studio, controlling the recording sessions, and supervising the entire process through mixing and mastering. Producers also often take on a wider entrepreneurial role, with responsibility for the budget, schedules, and negotiations.
The highlighted bit clearly shows that a producer’s job is not only limited to "funding" the music (as you ostensibly seem to be under the impression). Hence, I am indeed the producer, and All4one’s the manager who assembled the crew.
Seeing that I’ve justified my original statement with clear evidence, I propose that you do not, rather unprofessionally, counter my statements further, provoking this topic’s closure too.

I agree that I should probably be credited as manager and DIY as producer. Got that settled, then.
Exactly. Glad we ironed that out since he doesn't seem to be listening to me.

Producer still seems to be more of an overseeing job to me
Note that your quote says the producer oversees the whole process rather than actually mixing. All4one was also the one who got the idea and put the members together. He seems more appropriate as producer to me, however i don't like all this 'giving titles to self' thing. It seems selfish.
Note that all of john and mcartney's songs, regardless of who wrote what, were credited lennon-mcartney.

Well, I will concede that the role of producer was practically split up between DIY and I, with me overseeing the production, DIY taking care of the mixing process, and both of us seemed to have an equal amount of say in the project.
Maybe the role of producer should be credited as "All4one/DIY", or vice versa?

That sounds like a better idea.

The compromise is fine with me so long as everyone else involved agrees. The bit about "funding" was clearly not the point in this context. But it is not a question of me being selfish for credit here; I already have more than enough on my music vita, plus I'm not listed as producer yet. Otherwise the change is fine with me.
