Re: Disturbing Things in Non-Horror Video Games

I once played this game where you played as a mentally challenged boy with a mum, who had a small memory span. He tried to overcome his reality by training pets, and this was how he met others. For you see, even though he was mute - he could telepathically speak to strangers. He wants to overcome his illness by travelling to another island, but a group of bullies stop him. They use their pets to attack his, destroying his confidence. I had to retaliate and use my pets to defeat theirs, but when I got to my destination - there was no cure.

That was the saddest game I ever played, and it never ends.

Well he couldn't speak, he blacked out every time he went down the stairs or opened a door and he keeps hearing chiptune music in his head. Plus for a long time, he was colorblind.

Okay. I was thinking that maybe the standerds for innapropriate content was different back then.

Like how Europeans would find words like s*** or b**** or b****** or a** or a*** or even w**** in an 80s PG (some of the words listed would still be accepted in a PG).

There's a 4-letter "A" word?

Re: Disturbing Things in Non-Horror Video Games

In Pokemon, some older pokedex descriptions are really creepy. Take this one for example:

Drowzee in Ruby/Sapphire: If your nose becomes itchy while you are sleeping, it's a sure sign that one of these Pokémon is standing above your pillow and trying to eat your dream through your nostrils.

Glalie in Sapphire: Glalie has the ability to freely control ice. For example, it can instantly freeze its foe solid. After immobilizing its foe in ice, this Pokémon enjoys eating it in leisurely fashion.

Gengar in FireRed: It is said to emerge from darkness to steal the lives of those who become lost in mountains.

Ghastly in FireRed: A being that exists as a thin gas. It can topple an Indian elephant by enveloping the prey in two seconds.

Raichu in FireRed: Its electric charges can reach even 100,000 volts. Careless contact can cause even an Indian elephant to faint.

Cubone in Stadium: Always wears the skull of its deceased mother on its head and never shows its face. It cries mournfully in the moonlight.

Kabutops in Silver: With sharp claws, this ferocious, ancient Pokémon rips apart prey and sucks their body fluids.

Need I go on? o.O

Why they be hating on Indian elephants. D: Elephants are like the greatest ever.

Re: Disturbing Things in Non-Horror Video Games

ReDeads from OoT are really freaky, they make this loud screaming sound and the bearhug you while chewing on your head. I am pretty sure you guys have probably thought that Nintendo wanted to make a undead enemy, but they didn't want to name it zombie so parents would be like "ME NO WANT MEH CHILD PLAYING ZOMBI GHAME ZOMBIS SUX THIR COULDV BEN BLUD" So they named it ReDead so that wouldn't happen. Its so obvious.

I'm assuming that it's the British version of the three letter one.
