Giant Isopods

If you spend any time on reddit, 4chan, or tumblr, you know the "Dude, they're just Doritos" pic.
This is the picture with the tumblr thread removed, for language:

Okay, so they're just Doritos. But what are those creatures around it?

You can have them as pets, apparently.

Discuss this weird, and probably edible, creature.

No, actually but close. Kabutops and Kabuto are based off of horseshoe crabs, which are similar.
