Scratch Underground

Welcome to the Scratch Underground

NEEDS MEMBERS

Introduction

About a week ago I joined Scratch. And shortly after I posted my first project Switch, which had the fortune of ending up on the front page. I did good, but as I began to browse around Scratch I found projects better than mine with little to no views. I did not like this. This prompted me to make, this: Projects From The Underground, a collection of screenshots and coinciding links to projects I felt needed more recognition. It has done fairly well, it is currently 15th top viewed, with 91 views and helped to get Lord of Knights to 115 views (the most successful off the project). However I don't think that is enough, so I am dedicating my time on Scratch to help the unrecognized Scratchers who deserve recognition. I made this group so people can help me scout out projects worthy of recognition and help advertise needy projects.

Mission

Too bring projects worthy of recognition to the front page. Instead of the same people posting the same stuff and it becomes front-paged just because they are popular.

Projects

Projects From The Underground Vol. 1
Projects From The Undeground Vol. 2

Current List
(takes worthy suggestions)

jetpack game by legostarwarsfan
The bad graphics may make it look bad at first glance. But that doesn't change how fun, challenging and well-programmed this game is. IMO if updated with better graphics, it's a classic.

Fly Trap by wooof
All scratch-made graphics and sound. Level selection. How to Play. Credits. This game has everything there, how it managed to slip through the community's fingers, I don't know.

Bug World by SilverFire109
You are the bug. Don't get eaten by the bigger bugs. It's a pretty simple concept, but the bugs moving around the map itself breaks some ground as a simulation.

Sub Attack by Droid9
It's a twist on a unoriginal concept. Copies Jetpack Joyride. But with the twist, it seems to have something in store.

Maybes'

StarHawk: Reborn by CopperHawk
Absolutely deserving of the list. The only reason it's on the Maybes' is because I believe it can reach the front page on its' own. If it isn't reasonably popular by the time the 2nd volume is made, it will be added.

1st, this sounds like a great idea!  smile
2nd, there is an edit button, but you need to be past the"New Scratcher" stage. Try posting more in the forums, making more projects, etc.

Re: Scratch Underground

I really like Bug World. It is original and fun to see the other bugs moving around and digging. I think it should go on the list.

Sub Attack is fun too. It is not original but it is hard, fun, and looks like it took some work for the guy to make. I think it should go on the list.

Sky Tracer is okay. It is sort of glitchy and not very original. There have been plenty of other projects where you draw a path and the sprite follows it lately. No offense to the author of the project, but I do not think this should go on the list.

New Scratchers are a bigger priority. New Scratchers need motivation to make bigger and better projects. And since he quit, what good would recognition to his project do. I do like the project however.

I looked at his newest project to see how active he was. Was made over 2 months ago. He's too inactive. Try to find new projects.

Nomolos wrote:

The sequel overshadows the original by far. It's an amazing game. However I do see it has potential to make it to the front page on it's own (it's only been up 22 hours, 23 views and 8 love-its is reasonably good). However if it becomes stagnant up until the time I make the 2nd volume, it's a definite addition to the list. For now, it'll be placed on the Maybes'.

Need 2nd opinions:

The Rocket Jumper by walrusninja

Super-fun. Super-original. I mean this game provides challenge, strategy and has all the necessities for a good game built in. I personally feel this deserves to go in the next volume.

and

Block Maze v3 by benwaugh

A very good 3d game. I saw the original version and I was a bit skeptical at first. But now this is a very good contender. I feel good about this project.

God you guys are inactive. Well, I'll begin working on the project for Vol. 2. The projects and order are placed below:
