I CAN'T BELIEVE SCRATCH TURNED UP NO RESULTS FOR THIS FREAKING BRILLIANT GAME. >:U
*cough*
Outwitters is a strategy game for iOS. There are three teams, the F2P fish pirate Scallywags, the P2P robot legion Feedback, and the P2P teddy bear civilization the Adorables. EDIT: This just in, the the P2P Veggienauts team has just arrived. They are a squadron of walking plants- and fungi. :3
Each team has 5 units in common: Runner, Soldier, Medic, Sniper, and Heavy. In addition, each team has a special unit with a unique ability.
Every move you make in the game costs "Wits". You gain five wits on your turn, and an extra wit for every captured "Wit Hex". (The game is based on a hexagonal board.)
Each unit can move and use their skill (usually attacking) one time each per turn. The strategy in the game comes from the different units. Runners can move around the board with ease, but are frail and don't tend to leave scars on their enemies. The Heavy is thickly built, and can smash their way through most units in the game. However, they are slow and very expensive to summon. Soldiers are generally in the middle, but if not handled by a medic before being sent into battle, they can succumb easily to the electric/thorny/plasmatic bolt of a sniper.
What makes this game so boss are the aesthetics. Fish pirates? YES PLEASE. Even the maps are tailored to the teams. The Adorables have a map on a candy cliff, where you can see their gingerbread metropolis in the distance.
It's free to play and the only in-app purchases are the team packs, (EDIT: You can now buy the ability to have more ongoing games at once, and alternate bases for each team!!!) so if you have an iWhatever this game is a must own.
Warning: be careful on the app store. You have been warned. (Yeah, I know a lot of you guys didn't need to hear that. But... just in case. There ARE younger kids on this site. )

Awesome game! Since it's on my dad's ithing I don't really get to play it that often, but it's pretty fun. I feel kind of guilty, though, because I accidentally left two games hanging.
Ouch. If it makes you feel better, after four days of idling your opponent wins the match.

OK, good, because I'm pretty sure that this time I left about three...
Also, I actually won a couple of games! This is amazing because I am terrible at all board games, ever.

Yes that was made apparent, but what is this iThing and does it bear any resemblance to the iPhone.

cool
Did it give any hints to what kind?
There are probably more in the works, but the ones they've announced so far are called Foundry II and Thorn Gulley II. Presumably, that means a Long Nine II and a Sweetie Plains II. However, they will be retiring some old maps from league play. (The maps will still be playable in friendly and pass and play games.)
