Scratch 2.0 is taking way too long to develop -- we should have a 1.5

Since Scratch 2.0 is taking so long to develop, I think there should be an intermediate release before then. This could be a version 1.5.

But making a 1.5 would add even more work to the ST and 2.0 would take even longer to create. Just be patient  wink

actually, they're mostly done developing 2.0, they just have to test it and test it and test it
so developing 1.5 will take even longer than releasing 2.0

What would be the point? The ST is already incredibly busy developing 2.0, so making a 1.5 would make 2.0 take even longer.

...Because developing another minor version of Scratch, while the team is working on a new major release, is totally not complicated and won't take long.

Scratch 2.0 is pretty much done. In fact, the public beta period will start in late January.

Is this a joke topic? Or do people want a new version of scratch that badly?

Um.. Scratch 2.0 is (I think) planned to come out this month... if you want a '1.5', we'd have to wait another year.

If it doesn't take long, then it's not really anoter version. And a lot of the changes are actually going to be more in the website. THe general design of Scratch is going to stay the same (with a few added functaions and improvements), but the website is completely different.

I was being sarcastic about the idea - there's no need to waste time in another 1.x release, when all this time the team has been focusing in a new major release, whose public beta is about to start.

Oh.  hmm  I couldn't really tell if you were being sarcastic or not (it's really hard to tell over the internet.)
