The horrible Text Disappearing Bug has stung the latest version of Broadcastic OS.
I managed to upload it: Broadcastic OS 4.0 Beta
I saved it once or twice and quit. Now I'm going to reopen Scratch and the project.
I am using Windows 7 (referred to at times as Windows NT 6.1) and was running Scratch 1.4. The project which I linked to contained a considerable amount of scripts and text but not every costume had text.
(Scripts do matter in this bug; don't forget that scripts contain strings like '10' or 'move')
EDIT 1: Wait a minute, the topic says this occurs in Scratch 2.0 Alpha too.

This never happened to me until recently. One day, my computer crashed, and there was a lot of disassembling and reassembling and removing and replacing, and I ended up with a lot less RAM. After that, this glitch started happening occasionally, even on small projects. I usually get it when I save after making a bunch of changes. I never lose any data, strangely, but the blocks do start looking wierd and I restart the program for the sake of looks more than funcionality.

Thanks, JSO - this is very helpful.
Another thing to know about this bug is that it seems to be related to memory usage. If you find that it happens to you a lot, consider shutting down other applications you may have running so that Scratch has more memory to work with. Maybe think about buying more RAM for your computer.
Hardly got any RAM but getting more anyway this hasn't happened to me...yet

This does occur in a mutated form on Scratch 2.0, but it's probably a part of an error within the costume and backdrop editor. It's too glitchy for me to make a new project, but it's good enough so I can update a project like Broadcastic OS 4.0.

This happened to me...I just did these steps without even needing to look at this advice lol

This never happens to me for some reason. I'm obviously not complaining, it seems like that it would happen some time or another.

This happened to me when I had filled out a meme with a really long answer and detailed pictures. I had recently saved it, so I closed without saving. I reopened Scratch, and the project was completely gone. -.- that's why I don't do memes.

This happens with me, except only on Scratch 2.0, and on EVERY SINGLE SCRIPT I SEE!!!
I tried what you said, but i still isn't working.
Also, the Flash-Player version of Scratch doesn't seem to have to do the same thing.
Please help!
P.S. The reason I'm not doing this in the Scratch 2.0 forum is my account is apparently not valid there.

• When you see the first text disappear, save it and close Scratch as soon as possible

When it happened, my cursor started blinking and flashing and I couldn't follow any of the steps because I couldn't click anything. Weird.
