Re: Go Everywhere Beta 0.2

Come to think of it, should we just use JsScratch instead (with their permission, of course)? Why create something new when the same thing is further along then we are? Then we just have to worry about creating the blocks part.

I know. Thats the only problem. They need to just archive their site and move it to another host. That is, if they didn't use co.cc hosting. I hope they didn't, otherwise they have to start all over again, and that may take some time.

They were forwarding their URL, I think. At the beginning, they had a different domain, then switched to .co.cc.

And yes, we will continue our work on jScratch, unless if JsScratch is back up. I don't want to rewrite something that works, but since it is not gone, as far as we know, we'll work on jScratch. So, do you have a GitHub account? (http://github.com/). We have a GitHub repository, and we need to know your username. I'll try to contact lolzballs after I have your GitHub username, so he can add permissions to you.

Well, try cloning the repository (git clone https://github.com/jScratch/jScratch.git). You can only clone if you have a password, I think. I'll check with lolzballs, too.

Its your accounts password. He just has to give you permissions to clone. Try it again, but when it asks for a password, use your account's password.

Yes, you have permission to push to the repo. You can work on the blocks I haven't gotten to yet. These are the ones I don't know how to do. It is in viewer.js in the player folder.

We are using JavaScript and canvas. CSS is only there to give the stage some style. However, the ask block will need to be done in HTML, because we need the input element to get text. We just style it to look like an ask block dialog. Maybe you can work on that.

You said that we could not get JsScratch, since .co.cc went down. However, sb2.js may work, but it is really complex code.

I take what I said above back, we should REALLY use JsScratch! I found a GitHub repository with JsScratch in it. I modified it already to do full screen mode. I'll make a GitHub organization for Go Everywhere so everybody can start working on it.

Ah, yes. You are added to the GoEverywhere organization. Hey, if you want to see what I did to the JsScratch player, go here: http://goeverywhere.github.com/JsScratc … project.sb. I just added a fullscreen button, and it works! (the mouse glitches up, but that will be fixed later)

Nice! Just one thing though, will you need php? Because github pages doesn't support it.

I am aware of that. You can do that script you were doing with jScratch. If you can't, I have another solution, but I would rather you do it your way. My plan is to pull the Git repo every 2 minutes from GitHub to my server, where it will be hosted on the Macrobit site live, with PHP, MySQL, Perl, Python, Node.js, etc.

In that case should I set up a server and .tk domain for goeverywhere? Also, what is the new Macrobit url?

Yes, please do that.
And I'm still working on the macrobit site, but the domain is http://macrobit.tk/.

Oh, can you do it with the Go Everywhere repo? The JsScratch one is just a fork, so it is just there's so we can modify it. The Go Everywhere repo is the real one.

Ok, sure! OAuth is just a bit confusing.

Sure. Do what ever you want, we can just roll back to it anytime. And we need a fullscreen button, because we are doing an HTML5 version of the current Scratch 2.0 viewer. And the current Scratch viewer has a full screen button.
