Flagging

You don't have to be logged in to flag stuff.  Can that be considered?

Re: Flagging

Well, what if you, as a parent, don't have an account while you're checking out the site, and see something bad. When you see flag, you think, "Oh, maybe this slipped through. I'll just show the Scratch Team with this handy button!"

But, if you can't you won't want to make an account just to report something.

Re: Flagging

That's a good idea.
I don't really know what GOD_MOD3 was saying in his post, but it seems all right.
I hope the Scratch Team considers it.

SOScratch, James07 is against flagging without an account. G0D_M0D3 was showing an example in which it would be needed.

Re: Flagging

Well, one of the problems when flagging without an account is that the moderators and administrators can't track people who make flags without logging in. Sure, you can put in a follow-up e-mail as an alternative means of identification, but since creating throwaway e-mails is pretty easy, it's not that good; not to mention that such a flagging system is open to abuse very easily.  hmm

But it's not like people who don't have an account can't point out bad things that ought to be removed - they can still contact the Scratch Team directly through e-mail.  wink

No, James07 was for.

Anyway yeah, what cheddar said. People would be bound to misuse it.

Re: Flagging

If you flagged a project or comment for NO reason, the scratch team will send you a notification. If you are not logged in or have NO account, how will you know that you flagged a comment for a wrong reason?

Well, I thought it did. However, I just looked, and it turns out actually they don't. That's something that could use improvement, I think.

Re: Flagging

But I still think that it is not a good idea. If some random guy flagged my project, then OMG, i would not be happy after my hard work....
But thanks for answering my questions...
