Profile Question

I just found out I can't make a new topic in FAQ yet, so I'm putting this here.

Is it possible to hide the location on the profile? I know these is okay for most, but for security reasons, I would like to have it set to hidden. Of course I could just pick a fake location, but what's the fun in that :) lol.

Re: Profile Question

I don't think you can,and for future reference post this in Questions about Scratch. Only admins can post in FAQ.

Who would win, SOPA or PIPA?

Re: Profile Question

Hi Secretmapper,

There's is currently no way to set the location to be hidden. It's possible to just certain areas such as city/region blank, but not the country, so, unfortunately, if you really want to make your location completely unknown, the only option is to choose a different country (like Antarctica).

P.S. Actually, no one can post in FAQ, it's one of those forum sections that only Community Moderators or Scratch Team members can post in. ^^

Via using "Inspect Element" and a having a little knowledge of website coding.

But attempting to do so can possibly introduce problems (especially if the user doesn't know what to do and makes a mistake), and it would be better to play it safe by just picking a fake location instead of mucking around with code (especially considering that the location field already has a bug in it).
