Re: Frozen Coco's new single! :D

The FC account was on Bandcamp Pro trial a while back, so uploading tracks without the required merchandise that is expected to come along with it means that downloads are automatically disabled. We're working on that to arrive at a solution. For now, the streaming works so our listeners can still hear our music.

What recording program do you use?

This sounds amazing! The piano part is a bit loud, in my opinion, but that's all I would change.

There is no specific recording program we use. The music setup varies for all the band members. I plug my guitar effects and USB audio i/f pedal to the computer to record any guitar parts via a DAW program (in my case Cubase Le 5). For vocal and piano tracks, I use a similar method. I'm not too sure how the other band members record though.

Thanks for the feedback! Yes, the piano was a bit loud, perhaps because the song was rushed last minute by both Bas and I (literally recorded just about a week before release) and there was very little time for proper EQ-ing. Anyway, the reception has generally been good for both songs for which I'm glad.

You can anticipate a properly EQ-ed version of Light Amidst the Fog and If We Never See the Light in pur upcoming album!  big_smile

yikes

The only thing i can use is Audacity, and it kinda stinks for recording instruments.  sad

Naw man, Audacity is great. Super easy to use while able to get pretty complicated with it. What's your issue with the program?

It doesn't have good instrumental recording...it always has that rumble in the background, know what I mean?

That's a hardware issue, not software.
(that means you don't have a very good microphone)

Yeah, when you use Cubase Le 5 and stuff like that, you don't even feel like switching to Audacity lol. The contrast is just huge! Even software like Reaper and FL Studio beat it in every way.  tongue

When I've tried using Ableton Live or FL Studio, I've just found the layout counter-intuitive; I prefer what I'm used to  wink

Re: Frozen Coco's new single! :D

GarageBand is platform-specific, though, which is inherently gross. (plus it has other issues)

It's not really that bad an audio editor, people just think of it that way because it's created for loop arranging, but it's actually a good synth/sampler and DAW. I used it until I upgraded to Logic Express.

I completely agree. It has features no other editor has all in one.

Nah, Garageband is very much primitive; I find the mixing effects on that are far too limited, which is why I'd use that over Cubase Le 5 (and Reaper, FL, etc.) as a last resort.

Btw, we're a bit off-topic here, so can we stay on convo? Questions have been answered (about DAWs, guitar effects used, etc., etc.), so some talk about the actual singles themselves will be appreciated.

Re: Frozen Coco's new single! :D

Someone should make a topic about music production; that would be interesting.

You mean Frozen Coco's music production or in general?

Love it! By the way, try FL Studio Demo. I'm not sure if it'll work - but it has alot of editing tools too.

I do have the full version of FL Studio and it is great. Thanks for the feedback on the singles!  smile
