I have recently begun creating my new OS, WS Metro.
It is primarily inspired by Microsoft Windows 8, though with several differences.
Essentially, it is a sequel to my highly rubbish OS that I made when I was younger, Windows Scratch (now WS Classic).
But WS Metro is much, much better than WS Classic. Everything is perfected, even the distances between sprites have been mathematically calculated.
Here is the logo:
It's essentially the Windows 8 logo, flipped and recoloured.
The current version is pa0.3b and the current 2.0 version is 2pa[0.3b]b.
WS Metro is still in Pre-Alpha, so there will be bugs and many features are not yet added.
You can try the latest version here: pa0.3b
You can try the latest 2.0 version here: 2pa[0.3b]b
Full Changelog:
Pre-Alpha
pa0.3b (current)
- Tweaked Charms. Now have hover textures.
- Tools (not Settings!) Charm is clickable and opens... '*A CLOSABLE DIALOG!!!*'
-Share Charm is clickable and opens another closable dialog, which simply says "coming soon". This is the most the Share Charm will be until Scratch 2.0.
- Fixed re-openable app glitch.
- Renamed Settings app.
pa0.3a
- Added background for Settings app
- Settings tile is now clickable (hooray!)
- Added Charms box (hold C), currently mostly useless, though Start will close Settings app
pa0.2c (internal)
- Recoloured tiles
- Tweaked Settings tile (now shows name on hover)
pa0.2b
- Added two pages of tiles
- Navigation buttons now work
- Added Build text
pa0.2a
- Added Settings tile
- Added hover effect (only works on Settings tile)
- Corrected "Start" text. No uppercase letters allowed!
pa0.1b
- Added Tiles and Start screen animation
- Tweaked Startup animation
pa0.1a (internal)
- Added Startup animation
2.0 Changelog
2pa[0.3b]b (current)
- Added clock to charms box
2pa0.3b
- Initial 2.0 release, no added features
Please post bugs and other feedback here, it's really helpful so I know what to work on.

I posted in the comments of that project how the first page of apps would be official apps developed by you. The second one would be for Apps selected by fans. Notice I said "selected"? With a lot of people remixing, it would be hard to find all apps at once without having to move through a lot of pages. It would be cool to have a like weebly website where fans can upload their apps. Then, you could view them and choose the best apps and then implement them in the next version. I would find this a very nice feature for WS Metro to bring in the community a bit more.
Also, are there any new planned features that can be made with the new Scratch 2.0 blocks? I am interested in the future of this project

1. My plan is to allow the user to select what apps to display where.
2. My plan is to have a built-in "store" where users can "install" (but really more enable) user-made apps.
3. My plan is to definitely work in networking features using cloud variables and lists.
Your ideas are good though, and I hope to see more feedback from you.
Also, there will be more than two pages, I just wanted to work them in now so it wouldn't require major upheaval later.

I'm working on that. Currently I'm focussing on getting the framework in.
