I'm a new Scratch programmer and just wanted to make a quick introduction.
My interest in Scratch is mostly to create Space-themed games for now.
I'm learning how to use Inkscape, but most of my art is done with Paint.net, and with only 480x360 pixels the art isn't too overwhelming.
I have worked extensively with high and low-level programming languages but none of them have been as much fun as Scratch. I've stopped playing games in favor of making some (and testing my own now).
My first shared game effort was to create something which is not just a game but a platform which can be extended--something that's conducive to the open nature of Scratch.
Since I've started programming with Scratch I'm filling up a notebook with game ideas, sketching, planning, and creating proof-of-concept/learning code.
Time to go make my first "Show and Tell" post.

Welcome.

I'm really excited to see what you upload in the future. It seems like you have everything planned out and ready. I have noticed in the past that when I work out some of the semantics of a project on paper, it builds a lot faster when I'm actually making it on Scratch.
Welcome and good luck.

Thank you for the great welcome everyone.
After lurking for a spell I detect a pattern in first-responders,
and that chap who wants to put flash ads on our games
There's nothing like solving the title of a first-post for "y" to make a guy feel dumb. lol
(I had meant to write "Hey there, Hi there!")
Back to Spaceport Gamma, need to work on another round of bug-fixes so I can move on to the next project.
