You might remember a few months ago I made this topic about converting my bike to a motorised one by using the engine of a weed eater/string cutter.
Well, just a few days ago I bought a kit. I figured it would be easier than trying to hack an incompatible engine. The engine I chose was a 70cc chinese cheapie.
I'm expecting it to arrive sometime this week or possibly early next week, and I'm looking forward to installing and riding it.
Has anyone else done this, and has some advice for me, or know of other people who have done it?
Discuss.
EDIT: I might upload some pics of the kit and finished bike when I get the kit and install it

I finished the build and this is my new motorised bicycle! The rear tyre went flat after just 1 ride, (it was worn down to the nylon so it's not surprising), and I'll be getting a new tube+tyre this weekend. I hope to get some videos of it running as well

70cc is probably more than enough for that, especially if it is friction drive (Is it friction drive or chain?)
I was was thinking about doing this around the time of the old topic, but decided it was too much work (and didn't want to spend more than $45 or so on a project I would barely use).

Not any more or less legal than a regular bicycle, as far as I know. It may be possible to count it as a motorcycle, but I doubt it.

It's a chain drive, but it was a really low drive ratio (a tiny spoke on the engine and a 40-something cog at the back.) It's supposed to hit over 50km/h so I'm looking forward to it
I got my kit for less than $130 on eBay, and I'm almost certain there are cheaper kits in America, (everything is like 20% more expensive here ).
It's legal on non-main roads without a licence, although if you had a licence you'd probably be able to register it as a motorbike or moped.

Sounds pretty cool, but with it topping out at about 50-60kmh (31-37mph, for people that don't know metric or don't have a converter on their computer), I doubt it would be allowed on major roads.

As long as it is a mountain or BMX type bike (aka anything that isn't a basic street bike), it should do ok. Just make sure that the engine has a decent clutch on it.

Yea it's a mountain bike, and the clutch seems pretty good on these kits after watching a few YouTube videos about them.

Installed it (took almost 10 hours working flat out), and it runs great! So much torque, even when idling! I got a puncture though, so I can't ride it until I fix that

You must have bought weird tyres. I go over glass all the time and never had a puncture
