Suggest and discuss about independent music. In other words, bands/artists who aren't signed to a record label. I find lots of good bands on bandcamp.

I actually enjoy the songs on Snug Rungs. I had seen you listening to him...a lot. And then when I saw him on e6townhall, I was like hm, and so I checked him out.

I think Snug Rungs is, like, really pretty. It may only be like 10 minutes long, but those are a darn good 10 minutes.

I listened to it like 4 times in a row on accident.
I really like The Lighthouse and The Whaler. It's a melodic folk sorta band that's just really good.
The Influencers are decent as well. It's...uh indie rock.

I like Jonathan Coulton.

If you listen to the Impaled Peach link above, I don't think you'd think that sounded like yelling.
Sure, there's a lot of terrible independent music. But there's a lot of good music there too, and you can't just ignore all of it because of some.
Also, out of curiosity, what "hipster music" is like that?
(plus this is like more hipster than hipster music, considering most "hipster" bands are on hip indie labels like Domino, Merge, Sub Pop, etc.)

I, personally, do like Neutral Milk Hotel; however, I can understand how a) one wouldn't like his vocals, considering they're kind of grating and uh yeah, b) one wouldn't like his songs overall, as people have different musical preferences as well as may be disturbed by the subject matter, c) addiction is a concern, as, while I like them a lot, I don't think they're like the "best band ever" or anything. I think liking them that much is unreasonable, especially if it's just for In the Aeroplane over the Sea (which it usually is, being the "entry level hipster album").
(plus NMH is on Merge so they're not independent!)

Yeah, I think that would count.

http://nativebells.bandcamp.com/ Amazing indie-pop music with plenty of skilled musicianship and experimental tendencies.
http://traffique.bandcamp.com/ Mostly folky stuff (Peter and the Wolf) with great songwriting and lyrical characteristics.
http://cartonsonore.bandcamp.com/ French guy playing mostly instrumentals. Kind of has an eclectic toy sound to it sometimes.

I listened to some Slothpop and they're good on some songs.
