I honestly think the shooter deserves something worse than death after what he's done...

I've been praying for their families every night. I don't think they'll even have Christmas this year... What a horrible tragedy.

This is why we can't have good political discussions on scratch. For one thing, you provide no source to support this completely ridiculous claim. Second, maybe a few reps want to restrict video games, but one congressman making laughable (yet disturbing) statements is not the same thing as "the entire government is going to take away your NES."
It seems that we go through this every time there is a shooting. In Aurora, it was blamed on movies, which was fairly easy considering that it was the Dark Knight Rises. If media is the cause of these shootings we would have full scale anarchy right now.

I can't even find anything that suggests that video games were the cause of this; I think I'm going to have to call weasel words on that statement.

maybe he was very angry or depressed.
maybe he was doing it as a revenge against someone.
maybe he was doing it for the greater good, to strengthen gun control laws.

I heard that he was mentally ill from:

A) Mr. President Barack Obama (over the radio.)

C) Countless other random news sites/papers.

:I seriously

So he means that he was doing that to strengthen gun control laws? Killing off 20 children to PROMOTE GUN CONTROL LAWS?

So you mean like what ethical hackers do?

If you meant that as a joke, it wasn't funny.

yes, thank you. it's very polite to assume my opinion is a joke.

look. people in america are already talking about strengthening gun control. one person being murdered won't change people's opinion on guns, but killing a large amount of people, getting it known, and especially killing kids makes people WANT better gun control, which could save more people overall.

i'm not saying i support that idea, but my point is that he could.

well if they had enough information from the doctors who diagnosed him theyd probably have a pretty good idea of his mental state

killing people to promote gun control then committing suicide would be, in my mind, blatant proof of mental instability. not necessarily illness, but some sort of instability

i didnt say ill i said unstable
normal people can have all sorts of brain problems, nervous breakdowns for example are triggered by a wide variety of things
i believe that if somebody goes as far as to kill 20 children and 6 adults to promote gun control then theyre obviously having some sort of issue

YOU'RE IGNORING ME.

if he wanted to promote it then killing them would be one of the most effective things to do. i'm not saying he did have this tactic. it's very unlikely, but it's possible.

or it could be a mix. a build up of anger, and wanting to take it out on someone, and using that idea to convince himself it would be a good idea, and justify his actions.

yes because he had autism that's definitely why he did it! autism doesn't increase your chances for doing something like this (and that's assuming he actually had autism which isn't completely confirmed)
sure you could argue it increase your chances of plotting something but how many people a year do you think plot school shootings??? plenty more than actually do it

you can't call someone with a  disability sick if you want to be respected by any disabled person
brains can't be sick
they can be disabled but not sick
not that calling them disabled is much better, but that's the best term we've got for them at the moment
calling them sick is like a return to 19th century medicine classifications

i heard somewhere (maybe the huffpost i can't remember) that he did this because he believed his mother loved her students more then she loved him
and if you think about that, that's very human so he isn't 'not human' as i saw some people arguing earlier
we don't know if that's true, but for all we know it was
or it wasn't
but does it matter?
he was suffering from depression or paranoia at the time, which most people do suffer from during their teens or even later, which he was on the tail end of
most people exhibit it in violence against themselves, but it's a very small gap between hurting yourselves and hurting others
