I've been on scratch for almost a year now and have made two pages of projects (although not very good) I have tons of ideas and really want to make games but i'm not very good at the platforms for sprites to jump on. Anyway, I own 4 galleries and one of them is called Make Scratch a Better Place. So i've been helping scratch a lot. Only when i suggest one of my projects for curation it never gets accepted (mostly becuase i'm late though) and the most views i have on a project are about 20.
I really want to become more popular on scratch but i'm more of an unknown scratcher, even though i comment on tons of projects, and i only get views occasionally.
I have no idea how to get more views and i'm more of an animator so i was also wondering, do people on scratch like animations more? Because Astro947 and others make tons of animations and get tons of views.
So let me restate my questions.
How can i be curator?
How do I get more views?
and do more scratchers enjoy animations than games?

You have not been on Scratch for nearly a year. It is more like four months.

don't try to be famous because it won't help you. just do your thing and post tons of comments.

This happened to me, and I was desperate to be famous. How I got two project with more than 380 views? I took a class on scratch and looked through the blocks until I knew I could program anything!! If you make great projects, someday (probably not today) they will have tons of views. Trust me.

I'm not famous myself, but i would say i have been getting a decent amount of views for me being new. Everything that other people said above me is pretty much true.
1. be active. Make good games and animations. Be friendly.
2.You post on the curator thread, i think it's in the announcements forum.
3. There isn't really a method for this, or at least imo
4. I would have to agree with Firedrake969 on this. i think programming is a lot cooler than animations. Now don't get me wrong animations are also pretty good is done correctly.

Scratchers like Astro are old scratchers. He joined 2 years ago, and was just one of those scratchers who a lot of people looked at. I joined around the same time he did, just no viewed my projects.
Anyways, if you really are desperate for views, then tags are the way to go. Don't spam tags on your projects, put tags that are relevant. For example, if you make a spinoff of Mario, then tag stuff about Mario, and mario games.
If you tag your projects, and somebody searches one of those tags, they will see your project.

DO NOT TAKE THIS SERIOUSLY!!!!
1.) Be an '07'er/'08'er
2.) Be a good artist, an awesome programmer, and make sure you use sounds
3.) Pump out some quality projects in a huge bracket
4.) Advertise them (on forums, in sig, and on show and tell)
5.) Disappear for a few months, claiming to be working on a huge project
6.) Come back and put up a horrible project that's really inappropiate
7.) When the mods take it down, spam the forums with hate messages towards the mods
8.) Get banned
Don't take that seriously.
I'm pretty sure that's what [insert past famous scrather's name here] did.

You know, I'm deleting this darned topic. Nothing here is helpful, all i asked was pretty much how to get a lot of views, and people go and say "You've been on for four months!" HOW THE HECK IS JULY TO DECEMBER 4 STINKING MONTHS?!?!?!?!?!?

Deleted topics can still be viewed by moderators.
Advertise your projects well in your sig, in S&T, in every other possible means but don't spam. Even if you don't receive views, just keep uploading GOOD projects. You'll eventually be noticed. Like Firedrake said, Scratch is not about fame though.

Or just read this.

Dude, it's super easy. Just comment on everyone's project and tell them you're gonna hack them and then boom, you're famous.
Offline
Just stay active, make friends, stay hopeful and make good projects.
Also, promising amazing projects that never get finished seem to help me.

the people here are trying to help, and i think they deserve some respect. this website is not about getting famous. that is not the point. you've got to become a part of the community, you must post a lot of comments (i have ~4000) and help on the forums (i have ~1700 posts). the reason you're getting somewhat negative replies is because we understand that this isn't the point.
4 months? why are you taking this personally. it's a fact that you are new, like it or not. account age does not entitle you to fame, nor is it a representation of one's prowess. it does show that you are relatively new to scratch, and that you haven't been here long enough to gain recognition because you can only post so much in that time period. you can't expect to gain fame just because you think that you deserve it.

Ummm, sometimes no matter what you do you won't really get anywhere fame-wise.
First off, while your projects are good, they don't really stand out. First try building your skills in programming and or animation. The wiki is good, youtube is also a good resource, but most good programming guides won't be for Scratch so if you wanna go for broke you could learn another language like actionscript3 using FlashDevelop.
Easy ways to get popularity if you have the talents are probably competing in contests and submitting to the design studio galleries. Projects relating to internet pop culture are also good, stuff like Gangnam Style and Nyancat.
This is my first post in a while I think? I still check this site for my comments and misc updates but I don't really have too much time for programming anymore.
