Problems with Scratch

Whenever I try and open it, a project comes up (something my friend made a long time ago) in full screen, and it wont allow me to remix projects. Saving the work does nothing, nor does reinstalling scratch. I have even tried using a different version of Scratch, via my friends memory stick, no such luck. I had my harddrive wiped a while ago, reinstalled scratch, but it happened all over again with the classic Scratch cat project when you start a new project. I can't think of anything else, and the only possible fix is a new computer atm, but I won't get a new one for months. Is there anything else I could try that doesn't involve getting new harddrives or wiping it? I have been on scratch for a while, but this is my new account as I forgot the password for my old one and the email I used for it was deactivated. Help?

Re: Problems with Scratch

When you said that you got the classic scratch cat project when opening anew project, that's supposed to happen. A "new project" is the scratch cat with two sounds, so there's nothing going wrong there, but I'm stumped as to why Scratch might have been opening an older project before you wiped your hard drive.

Re: Problems with Scratch

Ernie :
I am Colinkskys friend and I have exactly the same problem. What she meant was when she opens scratch it opens a project but when she presses new project, its the normal scratch cat.
Jonathan :
We are both up to date on the versions. This has been going on for about a year now, ever since I force shut down my computer with scratch on. Colinksky did the same thing, so.. I have tried everything she has, but to no extent.

Again, Ernie:

The scratch cat think was even when she tryed to remix a project.  hmm  I posted this a while ago, but to no avail.

Re: Problems with Scratch

Well, when you click new project, the scratch cat is supposed to be there.

So you're saying that when you open a project, it shows the scratch cat instead?

Hai.

Yeah, like when we remx a project, when scratch opens, its just the scratch cat or in my case an old project.

Oh, I have an idea, though I might not know how to fix it entirely. Have you tried opening Scratch and then opening a project through Scratch? Do you still get an old project (or a scratch cat)?

Yeah, that works fine. I guess we both have to wait for new computers.

No, its if I try to remix a project. It's not supposed to open that when you try and remix it, is it? -.-

Um... Yeah. The scratch cat always appears with new project. Just delete it.

Could you give us a link to the project you are trying to remix?

I don't see WHY people remix things any ways...

Its all the projects I try to remix.

Also, stop pointing out the freakin obvious. I know the scratch cat appears with a new project -.- but it happens when Colinksky tries to remix a project, like the old project appears with mine >.<
