Owlstar led Rosewing through the thicket, occasionally looking back at her and smiling. "Here we are," he purred at last as they came to the edge of a cliff. Below lay a small valley, all in young green grass, a river sparkling through the gold sunlit mist at the very bottom. Rays of the sunset entered the valley, making the water sparkle, and the grass seem as if it was patched with pure gold.

Rosewing followed, giggling when a dragonfly perched on her nose. she lost her balance and tumbled into the river. When her head came bak up she scrambled onto a rock. "The water is freezing!" she laughed, shaking her pelt, skattring droplet's all over Owlstar. she purred with amusement.

Owlstar laughed and pushed Rosewing back into the river, jumping in after her himself. Water entered his mouth, and he spluttered, splashing Rosewing.

Rosewing laughed, and swam to shore. She flopped on the soft, mossy ground, the setting sun bouncing off the water and making Owlstar's fur sparkle. the lump forced itself out. "I think I love you," she murmured so softly she almost didn't hear herself.
