Owlstar tried to raise his head to nuzzle Rosewing, but his strength left him, and he dropped his head on Rosewing's shoulder, burying his face in her soft silky pelt. He breathed in her smell and sighed. The wound was still burning, but Owlstar forgot all about it. He felt like this was the best moment of his life. He wished Rosewing would stay with him like this.

Rosewing shifted so she could lay next tohim, with his head still resting on her. She smoothed her tongue over the top of his head like a queen would fuss over a kit.

Owlstar relaxed and closed his eyes, feeling the warm touch of Rosewing's soft fur. Comforting warmth filled his whole body, easing the pain in his wound. Owlstar was afraid of this feeling a while ago... but now he understood. He understood that he loved her.

Rosewing closed her eyes, rhytmically until she realized she'd just set her head down on his. a loud purr rose in her throat. Her whole pelt tingled; was this just because she was happy he was safe? or was it something else?
