Garageband is cool! Its user interface and the functionality of a lot of it are really just poor to me, sorry.
The loops are for beginners and stuff, but the amps, pedals and effects can be really fun to mess around with, and it has all the track recording capabilities of Audacity (although not as many effects).
I'm not talking about the loops; that's not what I mind. I just don't like the way the software is laid out and the way it records tracks; I find it to be too simplistic to the point that I've gotten so advanced that it's difficult to use (as has happened with Scratch ).

So the problem is with you, not with Garageband.

Macs. They are good in just about everything but gaming.
My Mac does gaming really well.
Yes, except Windows has many more games for their system, and they even make "Gaming computers".
In personal use, I'd choose Mac. It has a very easy interface to learn, really good for coding, and doesn't break all the time (for average users). (Don't go hating on me by saying how long you've had your windows computer. With what I've seen/heard, most break with average person use after about 1-2 years)
so um how long have you had your mac
you go on and on about how it doesn't break all the time
the family computer has lasted five years
this one has only lasted one year so far
it'll probably last at least another two years though!
but um it goes with following your common sense really
dont download EVERYTHING (as you shouldn't with macs either)

I've never had a computer "break" in my life except for a custom-built PC that wasn't put together with hardware that could sustain itself, which sputtered out after like two years.
Most of them were PCs, and most of them we had for over 3 years or so. We changed them out just because we had the opportunity to get a better one.

Yes, and you can turn on right clicking too. It's just not turned on by default.Unless you have one of the dorky Apple mice that only has one button
It still looks much cooler than any ugly logitech mouse.
Check this out http://www.scratch.mit.edu/ext/youtube/?v=nyuR58wiZ50
So now its looks over functionality??

I prefer the look of regular mice anyway; they look less awkward and are more of a symbol of computers.

It should be Windows vs. OSX or something.
"PC" here does stand for Personal Computer, but it refers to the colloquial term for IBM-compatible computers which were based on the IBM Personal Computer of 1981; Macintosh computers, however, are incompatible, so aren't included in this acronym.

You're right! We should write a book or something :o

Sorry, I'm already in the middle of writing one. Maybe another time.

I'm working on ripping a friend's Snow Leopard DVD to create a Hackintosh in VirtualBox. Hoping that I can find a way to load programs from XCode onto my iPad without the $100 fee, but I suppose if I don't have to pay for the cost of a Mac the $100 isn't that unreasonable, and is actually somewhat affordable.

You can export a IPA or app file from xcode for free. Then you can side load the file onto your iPad with something like ifunbox.
I hope that helps

Okay, thanks.
Unfortunately I'm having some issues ripping the files though. I tried using iBoot, and it gets to an apple logo, then dies.

Can I have the specs of your host PC?

8gb RAM, i7, HD4000, Win7
Virtualbox gives me a warning about Intel VT not being turned on, but I can't seem to access the BIOS at boot?
Edit:
I found it, the BIOS option was bound to a different key at startup and it was setup to not be particularly easy to access. (Opening it made the speakers go crazy)
I have to leave early for robotics, but I'll try some more tonight. It doesn't "work," it just hangs at the Apple logo, but it's not "crashing"

Yeah, we rarely get new desktop PCs unless we need to upgrade.
We have had to replace laptops before though, because the hardware was horrible.

So you turned on virtualisation on your actual BIOS? I was confused at first because VB didn't have a BIOS
Tell me how it goes

Yeah. I don't exactly know why anybody would want to turn it off, but I suppose for the same reason Apple doesn't use a standard EFI implementation.

You said that and I rebutted your claims.

I finally got into the installer, (Ivy Bridge was the problem, I needed a specific version of iBoot) but it turns out that I can't use the disk. (It was a computer-specific MBP-17 install disk) I may be able to borrow one from my computer teacher that's universal, or I can try to make a Leopard Hackintosh, although there seems to be far less documentation for it than Snow Leopard.

You might have to piratebay it, then pay for it if it works.
