"oh, Stealthfur? He came from DarkClan for the same reason basically every cat here did. I just think it was a bit odd how Tallstar didn't try to stop him; I hope he's not planning an attack. But at this rate, he'll have no Clan to attack with!" she laughed.

Owlstar chuckled. "Didn't stop him, eh?..." Owlstar muttered in thought. "Huh, Tallstar probably ddidn't notice," he said. "So, are you used to life in the forest?" Owlstar turned to Eaglesong. "We should probably go hunting now. If Tallstar plans an attack, we should have strong warriors. And strong warriors need to eat," he laughed, and pounced forward, swishing his tail invitingly.

Rosewing followed, keeping her pawsteps feather-light, making absolute sure not to alert any prey. She saw moving leaves, and a little mousetail poking out from the leaf carpet. she got closer, pounced, and caught the mouse in her paws. she nipped its neck to kill it. "Thank StarClan for this fresh-kill," she murmured, and buried it so it would stay fresh.

Eaglesong followed, surging with energy and happiness. She had almost forgotten how good it felt to have friends. "Where are the good hunting places around here? In the city, the backs of twoleg eating places were always filled with rats, but I would be very surprised if you had any of those around here."

Owlstar sniffed the air and followed a sweet scent. It lead him to a rabbit sitting in the tall grass. It sensed danger and raised its head, but wasn't cautious enough to notice Owlstar slowly approaching it, his body low. Owlstar pounced on the prey, delivering the fatal blow. He buried the kill under the leaves.

"I would stick to hunting mice and voles if I were you, since you're used to hunting rats. You'll get the hang of it, you've just got to look for subtle movements in the leaves," Rosewing mewed.

"Rats?" asked Owlstar. "We have mice, rabbit, birds..." he listed, sniffing the air. He noticed a strange smell. A slightly sour, uncomfortable smell. It wasn't prey, but Owlstar followed it, forgetting about everything else, as he usually does when something attracts his attention.

She opened her jaws to speak again, but a strong scent of squirrel filled her senses. she whipped around to see a squirrel; It saw her a darted up the tree. "Fox-dung. that was a fat squirrel, too." Rosewing sighed.

Eaglesong shook her head. "I can hunt birds, too, in fact, they were my main source of food. Rats taste awful." She spotted a bird in a tree nearby, and crouched, measuring the distance in her mind, then leaped into the tree, knocking the bird to the ground. She jumped down after it and finished it off.

Owlstar followed the scent, forgetting about Eaglesong and Rosewing. It lead him deeper and deeper into the forest. His ears catched a faint sound in the distance... It sounded like a storm, but the sky was clear. Owlstar moved slowly and cautiously, realizing there might be danger.
