In a lot of cases, though, BgP doesn't really stray from the canon too much, except with all the firmaments and stuff.
But with relation to the main characters of the show, I feel like it's often pretty accurate (or maybe that's just because of the various things I've read as well painting different portraits of the characters than exist; I really don't know).

I HATED the new episode. Did they really have to bring Trixie back? No offense, but i really really really really hate her. She's just a jerk.

I didn't like Magic Duel too much. I know Trixie is a jerk, but whenever she causes trouble it seems sillier than the bid villains but still somewhat serious, the ending was the biggest disappointment, now Trixie may not ever return, or she will return as a good guy.

To be perfectly honest, In the first episode trixie came on air, I came off the episode half way through. You know why??

What I'm saying, is that she was totally viscous, and when she lost, she felt she would be accepted even less, then, she apologized which she would have never done if Twilight had lost.
