Are we allowed to put religious messages or Bible quotes into projects? I read somewhere that there was no religion or political discussion allowed on the website, but I find religious projects almost every day. Am I allowed to upload religious (or even political) projects to the site?
Heck no. If I wanted to see tons of religious projects in scratch, I would not have posted this. Let's say that you posted a project explaining what Hinduism is. Seems innocent enough, right? But some kid, who was razed all his life living and breathing Islam sees the project and posts "Interesting, but we all no that none of this is true, right?" then some other users who are Hindus get mad and say "Of coarse its true, who's the idiot who told you otherwise?" and bam, you just started a Hindu vs Muslim argument. You see what can happen? As an Atheist, I've been in a couple of these arguments. It can get ugly. So no you should never ever ever put religion in projects. Case closed.

I differ in opinion, religious projects should be allowed. If they don't insult anyone/anybody.

I agree too.
The important part is that the ST agrees. Religion is allowed as long as it's not shoving a religion down someone's throat or being offensive.

OK no one has to gang up on me. My point is that religion will always offend someone, even if it isn't technically "your fault" its best to try to prevent hurting your fellow scratchers.

You should follow the policy I follow if you see a project you don't like: "deny recognition". While that term usually is referring to not feeding trolls, I mean it to just mean if you don't like a project, don't give it any attention.

Try telling that to every religious fanatic here on scratch. It's impossible.

If they're rude about people posting about other religions, they get banned. That's why it's not such a big deal, because you have to be respectful.

OK, that was rude, but my point is that the majority of overly religious or overly atheist people on here wont see this forum and won't take your advise because they didn't see it. So telling me that doesn't really solve any problems because I learned it a long time ago.

Um, they just need to read The Community Guidelines.

Religious: I've seen many bible quote projects, and I don't think that is even mildly offensive. But if It offends other people, then most likely no.
Political: I don't know. But I'd recommend staying away from making those.

The long and short of it is that Religion, Politics and the efficacy of eating vegetables will always cause disagreement. Free speech is a wonderful thing and people who say that you may post religious projects are correct. Provided the project doesn't try to disprove or insult a different religion it's fine, so passages from holy books, projects with hymns, projects about people of religious significance are all fine in projects, but the maker should pretty much expect differing views in the comments and be prepared to accept the views of others on the subject.

i agree with Jinck and jvvg. we should be able to have religious projects and i believe they are acceptable if not offensive, the problem is that religion is INHERENTLY offensive to some people, and atheism to others; inevitably leading to disagreement. so my opinion is to stay away.

But what about all those projects and accounts about Jesus and stuff like that? No offense, but since we can't post religion in the forums, I don't think it should be allowed in the normal website. I don't really mind about them, but they could still be offensive for some people...
AGAIN, NO OFFENSE TO ANYONE.

While I like to keep an open mind about these things...it seems to me that you are acting a bit trollish here. Please be respectful of the beliefs of others.

I apologize for that. Christians keep making fun of me though for my belief in such a deity, and they get to post projects saying "love jesus to be saved" or somethig like that and some(not all) of them harrass other beliefs.

I agree that religion and political views should be able to be expressed, but not stuffed down the the throats of others. I have my own views, and others have theirs. Please before anyone starts a argument on any religious topic, please think about how you would feel if someone was doing it to you. Also, like someone said before, disabling comments on such topics might drastically cut down on arguments.
