I like lost forever. ONLY when it's done right. It's done right when
A.) You can only lose it if you do something incredibly stupid---aka unwinnable by insanity
B.) If you do lose it, the game will offer an alternate solution for being nice and
C.) If you DO lose it, it's done in such a way that the player realizes it's his fault and not the games.
