I'm afraid that Tallstar will try to find and kill them." He glanced back at Noblestep. "How about one of us searches for them now?" Owlstar asked.

Owlstar felt as if his tongue was cut off, so he just nodded. "I can...I can pull out all of those thorns for you... if you want," he stammered finally, stepping towards Rosewing.

Owlstar smiled and sat next to Rosewing, searching with his paws through her fur and gently pulling the thorns out with his teeth. He breathed in the smell from Rosewing's pelt. It was a wonderful, slightly heady scent. "Here you go," he smiled when everything was done. "You're beautiful now," He stood up. "Do you need rest? Or shall we continue with our hunting? I can catch you some food if you're hungry," he purred.

Owlstar's fur bristled. He dashed after Rosewing to the place the screams were coming from. *No... what did I do... sending him out against Tallstar alone... Rosewing!* He was desperate. He knew it was Tallstar, and he was going to rip his pelt. "I'll kill him... Tallstar!" he yowled, unable to hold his anger.

Rosewing immediatly stopped when she saw what she'd been mentally preparing for. Her father lay in a crumpled heap, a wide gash on his neck. His lips were curled back in a permanent snarl, and his eyes were glazed over,staring into a void of nothingness. Rosewing began to tremble. "he...killed...my...father...and...he's...going...to...kill...me..." she cried in between sobs.

Owlstar froze in place. His eyes grew colder and colder as his anger rose. "Tallstar!!" he snarled and looked at Rosewing. Instantly his frustration melted. "No... please don't... He won't kill you, I'll fight him... I'LL KILL HIM!" He growled, standing in front of Rosewing in a protective pose. Tallstar's scent was fresh. Owlfeather growled and dashed forward, following the scent. "Follow me... don't you go one step away from me!" Owlfeather shouted to Rosewing.

Rosewing huddled herself close to Owlstar in terror. He was a cat she could trust with her life.///Tallstar hid in the shadows, his eyes black with thirst. "your pelt is mine, Owlstar," he purred to himself as he unsheathed his claws.

Owlstar stopped, trying to get rid of his anger and calm down. *Remember... always have a clear head..." he told himself, breathing heavily. Tallstar's scent led to the shub thicket. Owlstar realized he must be stalking them there. "Tallstar! I know where you're hiding!" He yelled, his eyes fixed on the bushes. "Come out and fight, if you're not a coward..." he growled, unsheathing his claws.

Tallstar snarled and launched himself at Owlstar. "You're harboring traitors that should be killed!" he hissed. His focus turned to Rosewing. "you! you're dead!" he hissed, and left Owlstar to pin down Rosewing. "Shame, you could have stayed with me, so sorry. But you are a traitor, and traitors musr DIE." he laughed.He bared his fangs, preparing to bite her neck.

I'll probably do it. I was really sad when he died, my first CD I ever got was the Thriller album, my parents loved MJ and since I constantly listened to their music as a kid I loved him too.

Owlstar let out a scream of despair as he saw Rosewing about to be killed by Tallstar. No... even though it might be impossible now, he will never let him kill Rosewing! He felt a burst of energy, and pounced on Tallstar with all his strength, knocking him off Rosewing. They rolled on the ground together.

Tallstar hissed and tumbled around with Owlstar. "Enough!" Tallstar yowled, scrambling free. "Enough of this fighting. I will be back for my traitor. If you follow me, I promise I will make you watch as I drink Rosewing's blood." he snarled, and ran home. "You better run, you coward!" Rosewing spat.
