Yup. I got a major breakthrough in the mix of Yesterday a couple of weeks ago. Sorry I forgot to mention that earlier.

I've been working a lot on my solo album lately since I hope to get it out soon. Already, the release of the first solo single has been delayed. Nevertheless, I am working on the songs for The Walruses.

Yeah, that definitely is my objective; to finish my duties by winter. Then we'll have everything complete and I'm looking forward to that period as I'll be able to focus thoroughly on my solo stuff and work with FC. I anticipate that huge break, given all three music involvements I've had here so far.

Yeah, we could release our first single for the Christmas market, so to speak.

Things I've done:

Used both the veggie-like low version of my vocals, as well as my new high ones for an octave effect.

Used different parts of my multiple lead guitar recordings for the best bits.

Mixed the stereo similarly to the original.

Got synth+strings from the internet.

DIY told me that he doesn't really like the dual vocals, and he I haven't EQed properly.

He's almost finished with his mix though

Bump.

It's been uncomfortably slow here lately. In the last two months, not much has been gotten done. It's nobody's fault, really. I think everyone in the collab has just gotten interested in other projects. DIY in particular has been quite busy what with Frozen Coco, his blooming solo career, and his new Harry Potter game (kudos to him for all of those  ).

I, on the other hand, have been greatly handicapped by the lack of Internet on the computer for a while (I've been using my phone recently).

I'm starting to believe that, as a group, maybe we should take our separate ways. That is, not forever - maybe in the near future we can get back together when we're all up for it. As for now, though, I believe maybe we should go on a hiatus, so we can fulfill all our other side-projects.

I want to know what you guys think, first, as far as our future as a band goes. Maybe during our break, we can release jji's mix of "Here Comes the Sun", calling it an unfinished demo.

Gee, it sure seems I lost my Internet at the worst of times - right when the single was released.    I just listened to it, and I'll admit, it's not bad by any means. I like the somewhat, homemade, lo-fi quality to the songs - adds a quaint, simple atmosphere to the songs that I really appreciate.

I admit the vocals on "Here Comes the Sun" are a bit off (no offence, jji, I know it's not really in your range  ), but I don't really see any problems with the mixing that some have commented on. Everything sounds in its place and fine. Well done, I'd say. 

"Yesterday" is a standout for me. I think the cover really brings out the simplistic beauty that has cemented its legacy as one of the Beatles' most charming ballads. I enjoy how it doesn't try to sound like the original, but rather as if it was our own composition.

The guitar on both is very well done. The somewhat low fidelity of it brings out a ukelele-ish tone that really characterizes the "Walruses" sound. You also found some very nice synth tracks, I might add. 

I also glanced over the promo thread for our single, and was quite surprised by the argument that suddenly erupted from you guys. To make perfectly clear, I'm not taking sides, but I do respect both of your opinions. However, I don't exactly believe our cover is "a disgrace to the Beatles" - rather I think it's a new and interesting take on the Fab's songs that, if not exactly yielding perfect results, is still rather enjoyable. 

I'm just proud and a bit astonished that we were to release a single (let alone a double one), a feat that not a lot of Scratch bands can pull off. I think the reason for this is because we all have a unifying love for the Beatles and a shared ambition to represent their pieces in a new light.

However, now that the work is done, I would wager everyone involved in the collab is ready to move on with other projects. I want to thank everybody who helped out in this collab, whether it be those who contributed directly or those who had always supported us. I'm honored to have worked with such brilliant colleagues and great friends as you guys. It was truly a wonderful experience, and I thank you all for bringing my ambitious vision into a reality. I wish the best of luck to all your future and current projects, and hope you will continue to experience great success.

Glad you like them both. I appreciate your comments on Yesterday in particular; great motivation. 

Now to move onto more Frozen Coco and solo work while I take a good, well deserved break. 

By the way, I'm really enjoying "Light Amidst the Fog/If We Never See the Light" at the moment. It has a rather moody, introspective feel,  a large departure from your earlier works that's rather nice.

On another note, not to sound selfish or anything, but do you think you could credit me as manager and producer on the description for our single? Thanks.
